Its always great to work with a charity and good people in general. We shot this at Tobie's restaurant Kitchen Cat in the city beautiful venue. The shoot was over and done in 20 minutes of shooting time with 3 or 4 different scenario's for the client.

Dr Bamblett is the Chief Executive Officer at the Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Limited (VACSAL). In addition to this, Alf is also the current President of the Aborigines Advancement League Incorporated and has life membership on various Aboriginal organisations including the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc (VAEAI). Alf’s father was a Wiradjeri man and his mother a Yorta Yorta woman and hence he has a biological and kinship relationship with many Victorian Aboriginal families. Dr Bamblett is an Elder and Leader within the Victorian Aboriginal Community. For over forty years through key policy making and management roles, Alf has held a number of Executive positions and has been instrumental in shaping many Aboriginal Community Organisations within Victoria.

Huge week of work just done! most successfully

It was a big and very productive week here at KGPhotography starting with corporate shoot Monday morning then in that afternoon down to Mornington for a shoot for Australian Unity Annual Report.

Tuesday shot over 100 garments for a Corporate clothing company working with two models for the day. Wednesday, Thursday running the business eg. emails, quotes, processing etc. all the other things other than shooting that are required on a daily basis.

The to finish off the week yesterday I shot 40 products in the studio for a DVD replication company, great week of work how could you ever get bored with all that! :)

Red Alert Advertising images and official launch!

Red Alert a good client of mine whom I recently spent 2 days shooting a range of Advertising images for asked me photograph the opening of there new training center today which is one of only 4 in the Southern Hemisphere that has the Helicopter crash simulation facilities. I was totally overwhelmed when I walked in and saw my images printed at around 5 meters by 5 meters hung up on the wall! They mentioned they will do some big prints for the walls but this was unbelievable! The shots looked amazing as they were produced on the 40 Megapixel Phase One Medium Format and truly still looked sharp that big! The Facility was officially opened by the Minister for Aviation and I must say a big congratulations to the great team down there on the amazing facilities.

The client wanted to capture the range of processes they look after at there factory/lab. From Warehousing to melting steel they do everythign in house and wanted to show there customers this important aspect. All shot with Phase One P40+ Medium Format Camera, lighting by Elinchrom :)

Studio Product Photography of a Leaf Gutter Guard!

A few weeks ago I had a call from someone asking me to photograph there leaf gutter guard system they are selling on the roof of clients houses. I suggested instead of shooting them on the roof which is subject to the light and weather we cant control to shooting them in the studio with full control over all variables :)

This to me is the value of a Professional Photographer making recommendations like this to get the best possible image of your product. As you see below we created a roof scenario in studio and with the addition of some spray bottles gave the tiles some life! This was shot on my Phase One Medium Format System 40 Megapixel back, as the quality and file size is tremendous we could just crop in on the shots to give a close up detail on the product in use. The clarity and detail even of the cropped files still amazes me!

Melbourne Advertising shoot for Red Alert

Red Alert are a safety training company that required some imagery for an advertising campaign. I developed a shot list of all possible images and structured these over a full day shoot. It was a fantastic shoot with smoke machines and Helicopters into water!

They do some really cool stuff there like the simulation of a Helicopter going down into water and the occupants have to escape underwater from there seats! Thanks everyone from Red Alert for helping on the day and my two diligent assistants for manouvering the multiple lights around!

Images were photographed with a Phase One Medium Format Digital Camera 40 Megapixels and mostly one or two lights while on location. Although the first shot was done in Melbourne so I had my full kit at my disposal. This was shot with 2 flash heads, one 100w Tungsten lamp and a reflector :) The Elinchrom Ranger is my lighting system of choice when on location, perfect light and amazing endurance from the battery.

I worked on a campaign for Bosch late last year shooting one of there new dishwashers which is very water efficient. A very challenging shoot indeed as we had a shiny stainless steel product and also the clear water bottles so two very different lighting situations. With a combination and backlight, front lighting and the use of blacks we managed to get all the detail we required.

‎7.45pm last night call from Belgium Newspaper "can you shoot that dentist who fixed Kim Clijsters teeth" sure this is the guy!

It was a great shoot with Phlanthropist Bill Holsworth for this editorial. He is a retired large Mammal Biologist and now helps other scientist's through the giving of grants for studies. It was a wild day in Bendigo where we drove to for the shoot, very heavy rain almost blew all of outdoor images out of the water literally! Though we still managed to get outside with the help of an umbrella :)

Busy busy times here again have been travelling around the country shooting a portrait campaign for a client even drove 1000km's inland Queensland to shoot a portrait of a subject on a cattle station! Amazing landscapes and experiences. Will upload some of this shoot once it is all retouched :) In other news I recently shot a campaign for Bosch of one of there dishwashers! was a great challenging shoot will upload artwork next few days :)

I shot the team at Barry Plant Brunswick recently they wanted some nice fresh portraits as opposed to most of the portraits of real estate agents! I decided to use the red lounge they had in there lobby as somewhere they could sit and relax and also create some interest in the image. Furthermore the red colour ties in with there branding colours with this in mind I also had a blue gel on the background light to cool off the area.
